The first graduating class in the spring of 1918 graduated from the school building that was under construction. It has 3,829 students in grades 9-12 with a student-teacher ratio of 17 to 1. The first high school building was erected at a cost of 112,000 in the spring of 1918 on O’Plaine Road, at that time known as High School Road.
